Have you seen the latest addition to the Connect Climbing shirt lineup yet? Check out The Crack & The Tree! We love Glenn's story about why he chose to add this shirt to the collection! How many other climbers got their start out at Hinckley (Whipps Ledges)?
This design is an artistic rendition of the Main Wall at a crag called Hinckley in Ohio. The Crack in the middle of the wall is a classic little route that has taught locals the joys of learning to jam for generations. For many of us, it was more like a desperate scramble up what seemed like an impossible void. A complete lack of technique can lead to a mind boggling pump on what used to be rated 5.6 (now it gets a more generous modern 5.9 grade). To the left side of the Crack are fantastic and sequential gritstone face climbs such as Buzzard and Snoopy. To the right are more moderate routes such as Burnout and Patagonia which are the next progression in the climber’s journey up the grading scale. If you look close, you can see the “Patagonia” hold in the shirt. Can you find it? Further down the wall is the intimidating “Cave” and the super fun beginner route the “Keyhole.”
You can order this new shirt by clicking here. Not only will you be supporting an awesome company with your purchase, but 20% of the revenue from this shirt will go back to the OCC! While your on the site, we also suggest checking out the t-shirt he made for Logtown (there are still some sizes available) and look for the cool Mad River Gorge sticker you can buy to add to your collection as well. 😃
Thanks for all the support, Connect Climbing! We hope to see you back here in Ohio soon!
