Rock Climbing: Whipp’s Ledges Tour

Join us for a day of exploration and community at the Whipp’s Ledges Outdoor Climbing Tour! Whether you're a seasoned climber or just curious about the sport, this event is the perfect opportunity to explore and learn about your local crag. there will be no climbing during this tour.

Directions: Meet at Top O’ Ledges Picnic Area
Ages: All Ages (Minors between the ages of 0-17 MUST have a participating adult)
Fee: Free - Registration preferred, walk-ups permitted.
Terrain/Distance: 1-2 miles on natural surface terrain with steep grades, exposed cliff edges, and rocks

While there will be no climbing during this tour, you can enjoy a guided hike of the stunning rock formations, learn about the history of the location, and get advice on how to responsibly climb at Whipp’s Ledges in the future. Our staff will be there to answer your questions and give you a preview of upcoming programs to take you and your climbing to the next level.

The entire program will be spent outside; please dress appropriately for the weather. Dressing in non-cotton layers is encouraged. Please review the equipment list. Classes will begin promptly, so plan to arrive early.
