Out in the Parks: Learn-It: Rock Climbing

All the basic skills you need to climb smart, climb high and climb safe with fellow LGBTQ+ friends and allies.

Directions: Meet at Top O’ Ledges Picnic Area
Ages: 18 years & over
Fee: $32 per person (All guests MUST register)
Includes: all equipment is provided
Terrain/Distance: Natural surface terrain with steep grades, exposed cliff edges, and rocks
Our professionally trained staff will help you experience the thrill of climbing on natural rock at Hinckley Reservation. Learn knots, climbing lingo, proper climbing techniques, and how to belay while discussing the natural history of the unique area with a naturalist. The entire program will be spent outside; please dress appropriately for the weather. Dressing in non-cotton layers is encouraged. Please bring a completed Waiver and review the equipment list. Classes will begin promptly, so plan to arrive early.

Program fees and deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable to another date/program unless Cleveland Metroparks finds it necessary to cancel a program. Participants assume risk of all changes in personal health and affairs. By registering, you acknowledge that you have read and understand the cancellation policy.
